Recruitment

Fall 2026

"Go Greek" is more than just a phrase; it is a challenge to become your best self. Being Greek is not only about finding yourself, but also about creating yourself. You will grow into the person you are meant to be through scholarship, community service, and sisterhood.

During recruitment, you will get the opportunity to meet all eight of the national sororities that we have here at the University of Toledo. As the days go by, you will be given the chance to talk to the chapters you choose on a more personal level.

There are also Rho Gammas, or recruitment guides, that will help you through recruitment every step of the way. Our goal is to ensure that you find the chapter that will help make you the best version of yourself. With eight uniquely different sororities, we are confident you will find your home away from home at the University of Toledo.

It is composed of sorority orientation and 3 rounds that highlight what the Panhellenic Association was founded on and allows the person going through the process to learn about each chapter. At the end of the process, through the mutual selection process, participants will have the opportunity to be given their bid on Bid Day and then celebrate with the chapter that they just joined.

To make the process less stressful, Potential New Members will be placed in a group and given Recruitment Guides to assist them through the process. These Recruitment Guides are often referred to as Rho Gammas, and are meant to serve as a role model, friend, and resource to support every Potential New Member throughout the formal recruitment process. Your Rho Gamma is a member of a sorority on your campus, BUT has disaffiliated from their sorority. They are there to help you go through the process — your support system and are there to answer all your questions.

Sorority Orientation:

This is the day that you will get to meet your Rho Gamma and the other girls in your group that are going through the recruitment process. You will learn about everything that they community as a whole has to offer as well as what dates and times are important for going through the process. You will receive a t-shirt and be able to start making connections with other Potential New Members. You will not be meeting any of the chapters this evening so dress in relaxed clothes and do not worry about bringing much!

Sisterhood Round:

This is the first round and you will start meeting the chapters this round. You will learn about all of the perks of joining a sorority and about each sisterhood that the chapters have. You will be able to learn about some of their members and talk to them. You will also hear about each chapters’ emphasis on leadership, service, academics, and sisterhood. Dress for this round is sappy casual, participants usually wear nice jeans, boots, a cute shirt, or skirts with flats.

Philanthropy Round:

The next round that will take place is Philanthropy Round. During Philanthropy Round you might be working on an activity that benefits the chapter’s philanthropy and talking about the importance of this philanthropy to their chapter. You will learn about connections that people may have and be able to see the different things that each chapter does to raise money or get involved with their philanthropy. Dress for this round is business casual. Participants usually wear skirts or slacks, a nice shirt, and nice flats or heels.

Preference Round:

This is the last round before Bid Day and you will learn more about the unique differences between each chapter. You will get a chance to speak in depth with some of their chapter members about their sorority experience. Dress for this round is semi-formal. Participants usually wear professional outfits or dresses, and heels. Dress for this round is semi-formal. Participants usually wear professional outfits or dresses, skirts, and heels.
